Belt (POEM)

The other advantage to wearing a belt, of course, is having a ready-made tourniquet available should an appropriate emergency occur.

I don’t wear a belt
Because my figure is not svelte;
Trouser waists fill with my unsightly bulge
Thanks to an unquenchable desire to indulge
In food that is far from healthy.
The situation is getting grim,
Oh how I wish to be trim
